  • Oxford Kindergarten registration set

    OXFORD — Registration and screening for next year's kindergarten at Oxford Elementary School is scheduled for Thursday, May 12. Children who will be five years old on or before October 15 are eligible to attend kindergarten.

  • Come visit the Boxberry School

    OXFORD — On Saturday May 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, the Boxberry School cordially invites the public to visit the Oxford Hills’ hidden educational gem to learn more about the independent elementary school and unique learning environment. Meet teachers, parents and students while observing classroom settings during an in-session school day. Take the opportunity to talk to Boxberry parents about their children’s experience and the benefits of their learning community. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

  • Awards

    STANDISH — Cassandra Dillon of Sumner earned the Marketing Award at Saint Joseph's College in Standish, presented to the senior marketing major with the highest cumulative grade point average.

    Kayla Collins of Poland earned the Sister Dolores Sablone Award at Saint Joseph's College in Standish, given to a senior in the communications major based on service, academic performance and promise for future professional attainment.

    OTISFIELD — Otisfield Community School is pleased to announce awards for the second trimester of the 2010-1011 school year.

  • Attendance mandatory for SATs

    SOUTH PARIS — On Saturday, May 7, attendance is mandatory for all juniors to take the SAT test at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Normally, this test costs $47 for each student. However, because the Department of Education has made the SAT a mandatory requirement, there will be no cost to your family for the test.

  • University of Southern Maine music students perform


    RUMFORD -- A Mass of Christian Burial for Theresa Belanger Burns of Rumford was celebrated on March 14, 2012 at the Parish of The Holy Savior St. Athanasius-St. John Church, with Fr. Phil Tracy as the celebrant.
    Nick Puiia III was the altar assistant.
