  • Arnold Moulton

    Norway – Arnold (Brud) Moulton, 86, of Oxford, Maine passed away Wednesday April 6, 2011 at Stephens Memorial Hospital from complications due to congestive heart failure.

    Brud was born on November 11, 1924 in Scarborough, Maine to Robley and Dorothy Frances Curwin Moulton. He grew up in Sweden, Maine and graduated from Bridgton Academy in the class of 1942. After graduation, he served four years with the US Army and was stationed on the island of Mindano in the Philippines.

  • Thomas B. Alling

    NOKOMIS, FL — Thomas B. Alling, 79 of Nokomis, FL formerly of South Paris and East Providence, RI passed away March 25, 2011. Born in Providence, RI, he attended East Providence Schools and joined the Marine Corps. after high school from 1949 to 1952. He was a builder in the South Paris area for 25 years and belonged to St. Catherine Church in Norway for 40 years.

  • Irving M. Valiente

    LEWISTON — Irving M. Valiente, 61, of East Ave. went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2011 at the Hospice House in Auburn after a short illness. He was born on October 31, 1949 in New York City, the son of Jose and Monsita Luciano-Valiente. He was educated at the College of Staten Island with a B.S. in History and a Minor in Spanish. He also proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

    SOUTH PARIS — Ella Tyler Button passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Market Square Health Care Center. She was born in South Paris on February 23, 1927, the daughter of Ronald and Gladys Tyler. She graduated from South Paris High in 1944 and Bliss College.

  • Marjorie J. Fuller

    SO. PARIS — Miss Marjorie J. Fuller, R.N., 91, of South Paris, died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Market Square Health Care Center in South Paris. She was born in West Peru on October 3, 1919, the daughter of Herman and Eva (Dickson) Fuller, and graduated from Woodstock High School Class of 1938 and Rumford Community Hospital Training School for Nurses in 1942.

    She worked as a staffing clerk at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Long Beach, CA for over 15 years until retirement in 1976. She was a member of the Long Beach Congregational Church.

  • Francis H. Vail, III

    EAST STONEHAM — Francis H. Vail III, 62, of East Stoneham died Friday, April 1, 2011 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He was born in Rumford, April 27, 1948, the son of Francis H. and Eloise M. Perkins Vail, Jr. He started school in Newry, then attended the E. Stoneham Elementary School, Fryeburg Academy and graduated from Oxford Hills High School. He then graduated from Right State University in Ohio.

  • Ivan "Buddy" Parlin

    NORTH TURNER — Ivan "Buddy" Parlin went home to be with the Lord and his Savior March 30th at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lewiston April 22, 1943, the son of Lawrence and Dorothy (Campbell) Parlin. Buddy went to school in South Paris and Monmouth.

    He married Geraldine Fouler in 1962. Buddy and Gerry were married for 33 years and had three children, Penny, Rusty and Cindy.

  • Maurice Arsenault

    NORWAY — Maurice J. Arsenault, 73, of Norway died at Stephens Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 1, surrounded by his family.

    He was born in Biddeford on Oct. 23, 1937, and came to live in Norway when he was adopted by Felix and Lena (Gaudet) Arsenault when he was 9 years old. He graduated form Norway High School in 1958 and worked with his father in his house-painting business. He later went to work at the Advertiser-Democrat for several years, and retired from Oxford Homes after working there for 17 years.
