POLAND — Emma L. Drumm, 82, of Poland died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. She was born in Atlanta, Ga. on Aug. 27, 1931, the daughter of Charles T. and Emma L. Fritsche Garnsey. She graduated from Miami Edison High School in Miami, Fla.

CASCO — Herbert J. Dvorscak, 88, formerly of Trenton, Fla., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough. He was born in North Arlington, N.J. on Jan. 13, 1925, son of the late John and Gladys Dvorscak. He was preceded in death by his wife Edythe “Mickey” (Earl) Dvorscak in May of 1999.

FRYEBURG — Merilyn E. Ward, beloved Mom, Grammie, sister and friend, joined her angels Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at the age of 71. She passed after a long illness at Maine Medical Center in Portland with over 20 family members at her side. She was born in Freeport on Feb. 6, 1942 to Albert and Roberta (Goud) Graham. She grew up in Bridgton and attended school there. She was married to Arthur W. Ward for over 20 years and together they had three sons. She was a long time employee of Malden Mills and a homemaker for many years. She had been retired for 20 years due to health.Nov 27, 2013 12:00 am

AUBURN— Elliot Stanley Tarlow, 93, died peacefully in Auburn, Maine, on Monday, November 18, 2013, shortly after his 93rd birthday. A graduate of Phillip’s Academy (‘38) and Harvard College (‘42), Tarlow served in World War Two as a navigator on B-17 flying fortresses. Following his service he attended the Harvard Business School and then joined the family business, the Alden Shoe Company. He married Muriel C. Beltaire in 1947 and they had four children. PARIS - Guy Conrad Blais, 75, who epitomized the family man, died peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2013, at Market Square Health Care Center surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on Aug. 14, 1938, in Lewiston, the son of the late Leo and Rita McCullough Blais and was educated in the Twin Cities area, where he developed a lifelong love of sports. He married Carolyn Cushman Blais on August 4, 1960, and during 53 years of marriage they raised four daughters.
