George Jones
May 23, 2013 12:00 amGeorge is a true and pure country music legend.
His music continues to thrill crowds
of men and women with his traditional music
and his one of a kind voice.
George Jones did not always go by the book,
but that was his choice.
George lived life through his songs.
From his tarnished past with not enough rights
and too many wrongs and his missed concerts
giving him the nickname "No Show Jones!"
George regained the respect
from singers to rockers to rolling stones.

Memorial Day
May 23, 2013 12:00 amPlease don't blame me;
I didn't want to leave my home to fight a war.
But now I know what patriots are for.
Now I lay me
Down to sleep.
No more to watch each night crawl past my bed,
And taste the fright and choke upon the dread;
My soul to keep.
A black so high,
It covers moons that once gave hope of dawn.
I know the starlight, too, will soon be gone.
If I should die.
Before I wake,
I count each beat my heart sends to my ears,
And lie in heat that only feeds my fear.
