  • Buckfield Auxiliary to hold food sale

    BUCKFIELD — The American Legion Auxiliary 58 of Buckfield will be holding a food sale on Friday, February 11, from 9 a.m. until sold out at the Northeast Bank in Buckfield. There will be Valentine goodies for your sweetheart. Proceeds will help sponsor two junior girls to Girls State.

  • Chinese auction to benefit Oxford Fair

    SOUTH PARIS — A Chinese Auction will be held Saturday, February 12 at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School cafeteria to benefit the Oxford Fair. Snow date is Sunday, February 13.

    Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the auction begins at 5 p.m. There will be lots of items including lots of John Deere toys. There will also be a 50/50, a food table and a dollar table.

  • SMH is now a Pink Ribbon Facility

    NORWAY — M. Patricia Cook, RN, MSN, EdD, Vice President of Clinical Services at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, has announced that it now provides the latest in digital mammography screening technology.

    Stephens Memorial Hospital has just earned a certified Pink Ribbon Facility, a distinction awarded only to an elite group of healthcare facilities. By offering women digital mammograms, the facility hopes to increase the number of area women who follow recommendations for regular screenings.

  • Pantry is empty

    POLAND — The Tri-Town Food Bank needs help - the pantry is empty. Items needed include peanut butter, eggs, butter, canned fruit, canned veggies, potatoes, spaghetti sauce, cereal, soup and tuna. To make donations, call Linda Laskey at 998-4227. The food bank, located at Poland Community Church, 212 Main Street in Poland, is open Saturdays.

  • American Legion to hold yard sale

    SOUTH PARIS — The American Legion Post 72 will be holding a yard sale on Saturday, February 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Church Street in South Paris. The lunch counter will be open and there will be 50/50 tickets.

  • Knitters, homeschooling parents meet at library

    HARRISON — Knitting Basics for ages nine to 17 will continue on Mondays at 3:30 p.m. through February at Harrison Village Library. If your child would like to learn how to knit, please call the library to register for this class (it’s free). An adult knitting circle has also begun meeting at the library on Mondays from 1:30-3 p.m.; all skill levels are welcome.

    Watercolor with Deb Lewis begins 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost $50.

    Job Search Skills with Jason Long begins, 4-5:30 p.m. Cost $45.
