    PICKING OUT VALENTINES — Sandy Landers is ahead of the crowd picking out valentines from the thousands of cards at Responsible Pet Care Animal Shelter Thrifft Shoppe, aptly named Pawsibilities. The Shoppe also features regular cards, toys, housewares, tools, books, records, jewelry and pet supplies. The proceeds from Pawsibilities provide necessary funding for RPC Animal Shelter.

  • Should towns enforce an ordinance requiring houses to clearly display their addresses?

    Yes I think so. It would be helpful for all 911 purposes and it would make it easier for people to find houses.

  • Western Maine Legislative Caucus to hold forum

    FARMINGTON — The Western Maine Legislative Caucus Series invited all citizens to a free breakfast and public forum on February 18, from 7 to 9:30 a.m. at the Olsen Student Center’s north dining hall at the University of Maine, Farmington. The snow date is February 25.

    Laurie Lachance and Dana Connors will present “Making Maine Work: The Role of Maine’s Public University System.” Laurie Lachance is president and CEO of the Maine Development Foundation, and Dana Connors is the president of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce.

  • Potluck planned in West Paris

    WEST PARIS — There will be a community potluck supper at the First Universalist Church on Main St. in West Paris on Friday, February 18, at 5:30 p.m. You do not have to be a member of the church to attend. There is no charge; just bring a dish to share. This will also be a game night. Bring a board game or a card game and enjoy the evening.

  • Person to person potluck supper in Poland

    POLAND — The monthly Person to Person Potluck Supper, hosted by Friends of Ricker Library, will be held in the Community Room of the Poland library on Sunday, February 13. Supper begins at 5:30 p.m. and guests are asked to bring a casserole, salad, or dessert for the table.

  • Home, Garden show seeks vendors

    DAMARISCOTTA — Central Lincoln County YMCA will host their second annual Home & Garden Show on Saturday and Sunday, March 19 and 20 and are currently accepting registrations for vendors. This show gives local businesses the opportunity to display their products and services to homeowners and those looking to buy or build. The CLC YMCA has hosted several shows in the past with great success including the Holiday Bazaar, Business to Business Show and the Energy Show. Based on past numbers, they project that more than 2000 people will attend the show over the two-day period.
