    LOVELL — Lovell area residents are invited to join neighbors and friends for a complimentary spaghetti dinner on Saturday, March 26 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Lovell VFW.

    The event is to show appreciation for law enforcement members.

  • Men’s Club plans roast pork supper

    SOUTH PARIS — The Men’s Club of the First Congregational Church in South Paris will be host to a roast pork supper on Friday, February 25, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

    In addition to a roast pork supper with all the "fixings” you'll also be treated to a fun night with music from the '50s and '60s provided by Act V. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children with proceeds going to the church fuel fund.

  • Free cancer educational workshop

    BRIDGTON — St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer, Hope and Healing will be hosting a Cancer Educational Workshop at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 42 Sweden Road in Bridgton on Saturday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The workshop is free to anyone in the Lake Region community. The focus may be on cancer but the information from these sessions can apply to your overall health care. Health education is a very powerful thing; everyone is invited to come and become informed.

  • Volunteers needed for Rally for Norlands

    LIVERMORE — The Third Rally for Norlands: Civil War Renenactment Weekend at the Washburn-Norlands Living History Center (Norlands) in Livermore will take place on June 4 and 5.

    Hundreds of living historians outfitted as Confederate and Union infantry will scrimmage with replica weaponry on the grounds of the 19th Century historic settlement. Norlands’ own historic interpreters will share skits, tours and living history of Livermore farm life.

    BANGOR — To help protect working agricultural lands in Maine, Juan Hernandez, State Conservationist for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), has announced that $1 million will be available to successful applicants this year through the agency's Farm and Ranch Lands Protection Program (FRPP).

    LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free spiritual coaching course to cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. “Tools for Intentional Living and Transformation” is a six-week program presented by spiritual director Teresa A. Schulz. Sessions will take place Mondays from 4:30 – 6 p.m. at CMMC, in the lower level of the 12 High Street building.
