Conference on sexual assault safety net set
Mar 14, 2013 12:00 amBRYANT POND — REACH, Oxford County's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services, also covering the towns of Bridgton and Harrison, is hosting a local conference, "Are You A Safety Net? Prevention & Intervention with Sexual Trauma and Mental Health."
This local conference will be held on Wednesday, March 27, at the Crosstones Conference Center in Bryant Pond with a focus on the awareness of mental health and trauma related to the needs of children and adults and ways to effectively meet their needs.
Children's author to sign books

Dina Kemp continues to work on her Milo and Unico Adventures stories and is currently in the process of getting her book out into the public’s hands. In her book titled "Milo and Unico Adventures" she introduces Milo, a rainbow tailed adventurer from the Universe Versa.
Dina Kemp is a self-taught artist and illustrated and edited this book 22 years ago and is proud to say “It is finished.”
Basic Life Support for healthcare providers offered
Mar 14, 2013 12:00 amAUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer the American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support For Healthcare Providers course on Saturday, March 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals with the skills to keep people alive until they can be brought to a hospital or be treated with more advanced lifesaving measures.

Learn to prune apple trees

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension has partnered with orchard manager Scott Miller of PieTree Orchard in Sweden to offer a one-day workshop on apple tree management and pruning.
The workshop is from 9 a.m.-12 noon on Saturday, March 16 (snow day, March 17) at PieTree Orchard, 803 Waterford Road, Sweden. Cost for the workshop is $25 and checks should be made out to PieTree Orchard.
