Collecting for yard sales
May 16, 2013 12:00 amHARRISON — Lakeside Grange#63 is still collecting for yard sales on Tuesdays 2-4 p.m., Thursdays 2-4 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The Grange is located next to the Village Tie Up on Main Street in Harrison. They accept most things - clothes, books, dishes, cookware, bedding and furniture - but please no computers or tvs. Come check it out. You can drop things off for the yard sale, or just pop in to see what we have, and you can buy things you like. Come in and have fun. If you have items to be picked up, please call Opal Gardner at 583-2960.
Bike Program for all ages at Norway Memorial Library
May 16, 2013 12:00 amNORWAY — In recognition of May as National Bike Month, Norway Memorial Library is pleased to partner with local business, Green Machine Bike Shop, for a Bike Safety & Maintenance course on Tuesday, May 21 at 3:30 p.m.
This program will be run by a representative from the Bicycle Coalition of Maine and Angela Harvey from Green Machine Bike Shop. It will be geared for youth, but accessible to all riders! Also come check out the display of biking/walking/running books and resources at the library.
Buy a bundle
May 16, 2013 12:00 amNORWAY — Friends of the Gingerbread House will launch its new "Buy a Bundle" campaign on May 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the site of the historic gingerbread house on Main Street in Norway. A new roof is the next step in the rehabilitation of the historic structure which was saved and moved to its new location two years ago. The public is invited to the site for coffee and donuts and to donate $50 for the purchase of a bundle of shingle for the upcoming roof repair.

Garments of Praise
May 16, 2013 12:00 amPARIS — Garments of Praise will be open every Tuesday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the South Paris Baptist Church, 1 Park Street. This is a thrift shop for gently used clothing. Men's, women's and children's clothing is carried for a suggested donation. Gently used clothing is now being accepted for donation at this location. Waterford World's Fair plans yard sale
May 16, 2013 12:00 amWATERFORD — The Waterford World's Fair will be hosting a yard sale on Saturday, June 15 starting at 8 a.m. Mark your calendar because all residents of the Town of Waterford will not have to pay for an outside space and the inside of the Dance Hall is $10 per table. The Fairgrounds is located at 36 Green Road (across from Melby's Market) in North Waterford. If you might have articles that you would like to get out of the attic, cellar or garage the fair can take them of your hands, just no appliances or computer equipment, please.

Norway Memorial Day parade
May 16, 2013 12:00 amNORWAY — The Memorial Day parade will be held on Monday, May 27, at 9 a.m., beginning by the Advertiser Democrat and will proceed down Main Street with a brief wreath placing ceremony at the Civil War Monument and will finish at the Norway Veterans Memorial Park, across from the American Legion.
