  • OUI

    NORWAY —Jacques C. Rodrigue,  56,  Norway, was stopped just outside of his house at 34 Main Street on January 28 at 2:15 p.m. and charged with OUI by Paris police officer Tim Gamache.

    According to the Oxford County Jail, Rodrigue has had three prior convictions for OUI.

  • AG cautions against Internet snoops

    AUGUSTA — Despite warnings, many computer users unknowingly leave themselves vulnerable to financial fraud or privacy invasions. In recognition of Data Privacy Day, Attorney General William Schneider recently reminded Maine residents to protect their personal information by checking the privacy settings on social websites and using secured networks.

    10:00 – Diane Lynn Sampson, born 8-25-65, of 53 Merles Landing, Norway, was arrested on Lake Rd. by Norway Police Officer R. Federico II and charged with OUI.

    17:00 - Mary T. Brown, born 9-22-59, of 316 Maple Street, Rumford, was arrested on East Andover Road by Oxford County Deputy George Cayer and charged with OUI.

  • Baseball bat earns man aggravated assault charge

    PARIS — A Paris man was arrested and charged with two counts of elevated aggravated assault Saturday, January 29th.

    Paris Police Officer Timothy Gamache arrested Anthony Johnson, 52, at his house at 1 Academy Street following a domestic disturbance. Elevated Aggravated Assault is a class A felony.

    According to police, Johnson was involved in a dispute, during which he retrieved a baseball bat and proceeded to strike two victims in the head and torso before they fled to a neighbor's house. His use of a bat is the reason the crime was raised to a Class A felony.

    08:00 – Karen Deanna Roberts, born 9-16-86, of 8 Cottage St. 1st floor rear, Norway, was arrested on Cottage St. by Norway Police Officer Ron Cole and charged with Failure to Pay Fines.

    08:45 – Jordan Lynn Bennett, born 6-28-86, of 186 Flat Road, Bethel, was arrested in Paris by Paris Police Officer Tim Gamache and charged with Probation Violation.
