    Maine District Court in South Paris

    SOUTH PARIS — The following is the Closed Case Report from Maine District Court in South Paris, from March 1, to March 31.
    Todd L. Andrews, DOB 8/18/61, of West Paris, was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Loud Unreasonable Noise on 10/1/10 in West Paris by Maine State Police.  He was found guilty and fined $100.

  • Local law accepting prescription drugs

    OXFORD/SOUTH PARIS/BETHEL/PORTER — On Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Oxford Police Department, the Paris Police Department, the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your medications for disposal to the Oxford Police Dept., 701 Main St. in Oxford or the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, 26 Western Avenue in South Paris.

    Harry M. Shaw, Judge

    James R. Corless, Newport, Vt., pleaded guilty to intoxication on the streets of South Paris and paid $11.30 being fine and costs of court. The arrest was made by Deputy Sheriff Sidney Verrill.

  • Child identification program in Otisfield

    OTISFIELD — Several Otisfield parents can feel a little more safe now that their kids have participated in the Maine Child Identification Program (MECHIP) sponsored by the Masons’ Crooked River Lodge #152 A.F. & A.M. On March 30, the Crooked River Masons held the free program at the Otisfield Community School.

    Friday, April 1

    13:54 – Carol L. Chandler-Watson, born 12-21-56, of 24 Cottage St. #2, Norway, was arrested at Oxford Walmart by Oxford Police Officer J. Richardson and charged with Theft.

    19:30 – Emma Ann Devito, born 2-10-91, of W1298 Wheaton College, 26 East Main St., Norton, MA, was arrested at Walmart by Oxford Police Officer Rickie Jack and charged with Theft and Failure to Provide Name/Address.

    Friday, March 25

    10:15 – Joshua Joseph Messier, born 10-7-83, of 112 Granite St., Mexico, was arrested at Rumford District Court by Mexico Police Officer Kyle Matthews and charged with Probation Violation.

    17:05 – Joseph Albert Ruest, born 7-19-66, of 16 Cottage St. #2, Norway, was arrested in Norway by Norway Police Officer Holli Pullen and charged with Failure to Register.

    HEAD ON — According to Oxford Police, two cars sustained $3,000 worth of damage each when Eleanor Edwards, 74, of Waterford attempted to make a left hand turn but did not see a 2000 Dodge driven by Mildred MacDonald, 33, of Paris. Police say Edwards' car was south-bound on Route 26 in Oxford and attempting to turn onto Route 122. Edwards was transported to Stephens Memorial Hospital with possible broken bones.
