    08:30 – Aric A. Pickens, born 9-20-77, of 80 East Oxford Rd. P.O. Box 14, Oxford, was arrested at Superior Court and charged with Aggravated Marijuana Cultivation, Aggravated Drug Trafficking and Criminal Forfeiture.

    09:58 – Nicholas Allen Coy, born 8-25-84, of 135 Vale St., Lewiston, was arrested in Oxford by Oxford Police Officer Zane Loper and charged with Theft.

    PARIS — The following is the Closed Case Report from Maine Superior Court in Oxford County for November 2012.

    Mark E. Tardiff Jr., DOB 3/18/85, of Parsonfield, was charged with Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Driving to Endanger on 7/4/07 in Porter by Oxford Sheriff.  He was found guilty on both charges and sentenced for six months and probation partially revoked on the first charge and sentenced for three years and license suspended for 18 months on the second charge.

    PARIS — The following is the Closed Case Report from Maine District Court in Oxford County from November  1, 2012 to January 31, 2013.

    David J. Girard, DOB 6/27/79, of Dixfield, was charged with Fugitive from Justice on 11/5/12 in Paris by Oxford Sheriff.  The charge was dropped.

  • Not-so-good old days

    It often happens that interesting articles appear in old newspapers as if by divine intervention while the researcher is looking (usually fruitlessly) for something else entirely. The old stories, though, often present samples of the perceptions people of the community held, items they found interesting or everyday events at that time and place.

    GARDINER — Maine Office of Securities Administrator Judith Shaw has issued an alert to all Maine investors regarding a foreign-based company known as “Profitable Sunrise,” which has attempted to sell unregistered investment contracts through multiple online sources – prompting serious concern and action by securities officials throughout the country.

    PARIS — The following is the Closed Case Report from Maine Superior Court in Oxford County for November 2012.

    John R. DeSalvo, DOB 10/20/79, of Otisfield, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs and  Violating Condition of Release on 5/14/11 in Norway by Norway Police.  He was found guilty on both charges and fiend $500 on the first charge and $200 on the second charge.
