SOUTH PARIS — Once again, every Oxford Hills Middle School student is busy decorating Hannaford grocery bags with holiday cutouts and poems. The tradition began in 2001 and is now coordinated at the Middle School by Cheryl Lang, an eighth grade language arts teacher. The first year, 125 decorated bag were delivered to Hannaford. This year over 550 bags will be brought to the store. The beautifully decorated bags will be ready to pack your groceries in on December 17. Make sure that you ask for one.

In addition, this year some of the eighth grade artists and poets will be offering the bags free to Hannaford customers as they come in to shop. This is a wonderful way for students to say thank you and Happy Holidays to the generous Oxford Hills community. Maureen Howard, Director of the Oxford Hills Community Education Exchange, coordinates this annual program.
