CLASS PLANTERS — Students in Mrs. Thibodeau’s class have been busy making planters and filling them with various varieties of flowers. They even made Mr. Sincerbeaux a planter.

Have you seen the new mural?

This year all fifth grade classes were involved in service learning projects. Mrs. Eastman's class decided to take on improving the play ground. One of the improvements the students decided to do was a mural. As with anything, this takes money and artistic ability.

We were lucky to come across both. The students wrote a letter to Superintendent Colpitts asking for support through the Oxford Hills School District - Maine Learn and Serve Grant, and were awarded money to complete all of their projects. Next, we needed to blend our ideas with someone who had creative capabilities, and we were paired with Joelle Zupokfska from OHCHS.

She was a tremendous asset; she worked with the class collaborating on ideas and helped them bring their image of the mural to fruition. Everyone worked hard and all are extremely proud of the final piece. With caring students like this, the future looks bright here at Guy E. Rowe.
