SPELLERS — The district Spelling Bee for grades 6-8 was held at the Middle School Library on January 26th. Norissa Alleano and Jacob Reis represented the Guy E. Rowe School. They both did a wonderful job. We are very proud of their participation in this event.

The 1,2,3,4 Parents! Group is sponsoring two workshops for parents February 15th and 22nd. The workshop will discuss our roles as parents, challenging behaviors, and discipline. The cost for the workshops is $10 with scholarships and fee waivers available for qualifying families.

The workshops will be held at 172 Main Street in Norway at the Community Concepts office on the 2nd floor from 4-6 with dinner provided. For more information contact Tammy Beaulieu at 739-6547 or Hallie Twomey at 333-6425.

Greece and Rome

The six grade has completed their study of the Greek and Roman cultures. Students researched topics such as home life, education, clothing, and government. Then they wrote a compare and contrast essay on these cultures.

In addition each student chose a Greek god or goddess and designed a trading card similar to baseball or football trading cards but on a much larger scale. Through these projects students learned research and essay writing skills.
