Agnes Gray Elementary art show to be held at West Paris library

WEST PARIS — Many thanks go to the Friends of the Library for their invitation to host the Agnes Gray Elementary School student art show at the unique and now spacious Arthur L. Mann Library on Main Street in West Paris. The art students are very excited about this opportunity. Imagine having your art on display for over a month and visited by a very supportive art community of friends and family.

The library extended their invitation to the students after a field trip some of the students made to the library last month. Mrs. Makley gave them a special tour of Jane Gibson's art paintings and prints on display. They learned so much from that show that they went right to work creating their own art prints. On display in this special art show will be a five-foot pop-up tree book the students made and so much more - snowmen, paper sculptures, prints, paintings, drawings, and a huge sun dome too.

Mark your calendars and enjoy the art made by the K-4 students from West Paris. It’s a great opportunity to appreciate their talents and hard work. This "Art Matters" K-4 Student Art show will be at the Arthur L. Mann Library from April 2 through May 6. A reception for artists and their parents will be held on April 5, from 3-7 p.m.

Art helps increase skills, make connections in other learning areas, make discoveries about the world, investigate history, science, literature and build  self reliance and pride. Yes...art matters.
