Western Mtn. college offers Teaching in Costa Rica

BETHEL — Bethel native Sarah Rackliffe spent last year as a World Teach volunteer, arriving in a tiny rural village in Costa Rica with little knowledge of Spanish. She lived with a Costa Rican family nearby and taught English to primary level students in the one-room schoolhouse. Sarah will describe these life-changing experiences and adventures and share her slides in the next Down Home Maine series sponsored by the Western Mountains Senior College. Join in on Thursday, March 24, from 4:30-6 p.m. at Gould Academy’s McLaughlin Auditorium.

WMSC offers multi-session courses, workshops, outdoor activities, special events and social gatherings to members aged 50 and over. The Down Home Maine series features unique and adventurous people from the local community. Programs are open to the public free of charge; donations are accepted to offset Senior College expenses. Light refreshments are available. For more information, contact WMSC co-chair, Bonnie Pooley, at 381-7944. Google Western Mountains Senior College to reach their website.
