Oxford, Otisfield families invited to become Scouts

OXFORD — Pack 196 of Oxford and Otisfield has been organized for over 50 years. This means over 50 years of community service, camping, hiking, swimming, and volunteering. Fifty years of guiding Cub Scouts from first grade all way through their senior year and making Eagle Scout. Throughout our country's history there have been former Scouts go on to be President of the United States, walk on the moon, be sports stars, community leaders and heroes. These folks were guided by their parents who took the opportunity to volunteer in Scouting. Pack 196 is and has been generously supported by members of American Legion Post 112 in Oxford.

If you have a son or know of boy in first through fifth grade, you are invited to attend an informational brief on Scouting at the American Legion Post 112 on Route 121 at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 16. This brief will take one to one and a half hours and be brought to you by parents from all over Oxford and Androscoggin Counties. If you have a son or know of a boy in first through fifth grade and do not care about his direction in life, please do not attend this brief.
