John T. Speed

WOODSTOCK — John Thomas Speed, 67, of Woodstock, passed away at his home on Monday, December 13, 2010. He was born in Boston, MA on January 12, 1943, the son of John J. and Lillian (O'Donnel) Speed. He was a shift supervisor in the purchasing department at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was a member of St. Athanasius Church in Rumford, attended St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Norway and was a volunteer at the Oxford Hills Food Pantry.

Mr. Speed is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Speed and Kellie Biggins and her husband William; sisters, Joan Pedersen and Mary Gillis; brother, Tom Speed and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Catherine of Sienna Church followed by interment at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oxford Hills Food Pantry. Arrangements under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home, 64 Andrews Rd., Bryant Pond.
