National Game Day set at Norway library
NORWAY - It’s the hottest new thing. It’s in, it’s exciting and your child is begging to join - and it’s at your local library. On Thursday, November 11 from 3-5 p.m. children ages six to 12 are invited to come to the Norway Memorial Library and enjoy playing games with friends and family.
During this time, hundreds of libraries across the country will showcase gaming programs and services in support of the American Library Association’s National Gaming Day @ your library. As a result, recreational library attendance by kids, teenagers, college students, families and seniors will skyrocket even further.
No longer just a place for books, Norway Memorial Library is a gathering place for all ages. Gaming programs are attracting all generations to the library. In the children’s room there will be many traditional board games and card games for children, friends and their parents to play. Games include Scrabble Junior, Monopoly Junior, Clue Junior, checkers, and chess.
Gaming is yet another example of how a new format can fulfill the desire to learn, play and yes, read at your library. You can learn more at http://ilovelibraries.org/gaming
