Emily J. Parsons
SOUTH PARIS — Emily J. Parsons, 90, died peacefully Sunday, December 18, 2011, in South Paris. She was born in New Limerick on August 20, 1921, the daughter of the late Anson and Effie (Winship) Knowlton. She married Velman Parsons on July 16, 1939 and together they raised their family.
She loved the Lord, her family and friends very much. She was active in church activities, an avid reader of the Bible and could be heard reciting the 23rd Psalm prior to falling asleep. Her hobbies included flower gardens, in-house plants, raising vegetable gardens with her husband, picking strawberries, raspberries and blueberries in the summertime, reading, puzzle books and embroidery. She was a very giving person and enjoyed preparing and giving fruit baskets away at Christmastime to elderly friends. Family was very important to her; she loved cooking for her family and spending time with them.
Mrs. Parsons is survived by her children, Parker Parsons and wife Rachel of Norridgewock, Ronald Parsons and wife Kathleen of Norway, Shirley Parsons of North Anson, Betty Pomerleau and husband David of Florida and Maine, Kathleen Parker and husband Gary of Hartland, Paula Swanton and husband Carl of Otisfield and Pauline Parsons of Boston and Maine; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Velman Parsons; three sons, Baby Parsons, Robert Parsons and Anson Parsons; one grandson, Dwayne Parker and two brothers, Burns Knowlton and Kenneth Knowlton.
