Mrs. Marion B. Heath Dillingham

SOUTH PARIS - Marion B. Heath Dillingham, 92, died peacefully Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Market Square Health Care Center in South Paris with her loving family by her side. She was born in West Sumner, September 13, 1918, the daughter of George and Clara Chandler Heath. She married Nelson ("Pedro") Dillingham on April 29, 1942. They were married 45 years until his death in November 1987. They made their home in West Sumner, except for a few places they lived where he found work. They raised five children; she did various jobs while bringing up her family. She was a store clerk in West Sumner and then became officer in charge at the post office and eventually became Postmaster from July 31, 1971 to January 16, 1981 when she retired.

Mr. and Mrs. Dillingham moved to South Paris in June 1987, living there until she moved to Market Square Health Care Center due to ill health in October 2008. She liked to play bingo and go dancing. She was loved by all who knew her and enjoyed having family and friends around at reunions and parties. She liked to cook and was a very good one and was known for her yeast rolls. She was a good provider and a loving and understanding mother, always lending her support to each and everyone.

Mrs. Dillingham is survived by sons, Ronald and Peggy and Gordon and Lola Lee all of West Paris, Lenwood and Eyddie of Canton, daughter Janice and Charlie and daughter Gloria all of South Paris; brother, Erwin Heath of Greene; sisters, Beverly and husband Merton Farrington of Dryden and Barbara and her husband Gene Bellegarde of West Paris; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Nelson; grandson, Jeff and brother, Stan Heath.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 3 at  1 p.m. at the Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 45 Main Street, South Paris with interment in Pleasant Pond Cemetery, West Sumner. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations in her memory to Market Square Health Care Center, Activity Fund, South Paris, ME.
