Ernest E. Lorenzen
OXFORD - Ernest E. Lorenzen, 84, of Oxford died Saturday, November 20 at his residence in Oxford with his loving family by his side. He was born in Lynn, MA on July 13, 1926, the son of Christian and Marion (Nudd) Lorenzen. He married Viola March on November 26, 1958.
He was a graduate of Lynn High School. He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy where he received numerous awards. He flew from three different aircraft carriers as an aerial gunner. After the Navy he joined the Lynn, MA police department, serving there for over 30 years. Upon retiring from the Lynn police department he moved to Maine and joined the Oxford County Sheriff's department as correction officer.
Mr. Lorenzen is survived by his wife Viola of Oxford; daughters, Kim Lorna and Sheila; sons, Roland and Edward; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Fallansbee. He was predeceased by a son, Billy and a daughter, Vivian.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, November 27 at 10 a.m. at the Highland Cemetery in West Poland, followed by a reception at the American Legion Hall in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Lorenzen's memory may be sent the American Cancer Society, 1 Main St., Topsham, ME 04086.
