Roberta Holt Lavertu Green

NORWAY - Roberta Holt Lavertu Green, 84, of Norway died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Clover Health Care Center in Auburn. She was born in Mechanic Falls, January 30, 1926, the daughter of Ralph and Gladys Holt. She attended Mechanic Falls schools and graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in the class of 1944. In 1944 she moved to Lewiston and married Joseph Lavertu in 1945; he died in 1995. She worked mostly in woolen mills, five years at Arrow-Hart and retired after five years at Ramada Inn. She enjoyed dancing, bowling and cooking. She married Robert E. Green on November 15, 1996; he died September 16, 2005.

Survivors include her son, Robert Lavertu and his wife Cynthia of Oxford; three grandsons and their families, Joseph Lavertu and his partner Margaret of El Mirage, AZ and son Devan, John Lavertu and his wife Pamela of Otisfield and their children Celina and Chelsey and James Lavertu and his partner Crystal of Mechanic Falls and children Noah and Brendin; two sisters, Mary Ainaire of Lewiston and Vera Morse of Lisbon; three stepsons; one stepdaughter; eight step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Fred Holt and a sister, Ruth Caron.

Family and friends attended graveside services Wednesday, November 17 at the Riverside Annex Cemetery, South Paris. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Maine Veterans Home, 477 High Street, South Paris.
