Frederick C. Denlinger

NORWAY - Frederick C. Denlinger, 72, of 61 Huntington Ave., Norway, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Hospice House in Auburn. He was born June 23, 1938 in Enon, OH to Jess B. and Margaret J. Hankel Denlinger. In 1957 he joined the U.S. Navy; he left active duty in 1961 and was honorable discharged June 24, 1963. On October 3, 1958 he married Thelma Murdock, who survives.

After working for Addressograph-Multigraph Corp., later known as AM International, from 1961 to 1983, Mr. Denlinger started Simplex Time Recorder Corp., Gardner, MA, from which he retired December 31, 1999. The Denlingers moved to Maine in January, 2003. He was a member of American Legion Post #82 of Norway and was also a Masonic Brother.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Steven M. and wife Deana of Lakeforest, CA, Christopher A. of South Paris and F. Scott and wife Alice of Cocoa Beach, FL; grandchildren, Chris Jr., Hunter and Connor McCarthy and Timothy M. Denlinger and great-granddaughter, Brayleigh. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Robert Smith.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, November 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by a funeral services at 12 noon at Oxford Hills and Weston Funeral Services, 1037 Main Street, Rte 26, Oxford. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in North Norway. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Denlinger's memory may be sent to the American Legion Post # 82, c/o Ken Dullea, 23 Harrison Rd., Norway, ME 04268.
