SKOWHEGAN — Michael Troy Rainey, 40, recently of Skowhegan Maine was a gifted musician, a loving father and dedicated son. He was sadly taken on Thursday, August 18, 2011 to be with his lord.

Mike was born at Stephen’s Memorial on May 2, 1971 to Susan and the late Edgar Rainey. A sweet and rambunctious youngster, Mike graduated from Telstar Regional High School. He grew to become an accomplished guitarist and worked in various venues throughout his life. His band “Stone Fish” performed locally and attracted a wide audience.

Besides his mother, Michael is survived by his grandmothers, Zylpha Gibbs and Mirja Rainey, children Ross, Nathan, Rachel, Evan Rainey and Chasity Pike. He is also survived by his brother Jeffrey Rainey and wife Tracy, his nephews Jacob and Joshua and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial donations can be made in Michael's memory to the Trinity Evangalistic Church - Shelter, 23 McClellan Street, Skowhegan, Maine 04976

A graveside service will take place Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetary, Greenwood, Maine. Family and friends are invited to a gathering in Michael's honor after the grave side services at the Locke Mills Legion Hall.
