Peter Nason

ALBANY TWP. — Peter Nason, 74, of Albany Twp., passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012 at his residence with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Lewiston on December 30, 1937, son of Harry Nason, Sr. and Harriet Files Nason. He was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Kimball Union Prep School, University of Maine and ROTC – Sigma Chi Fraternity. He proudly served his country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army.

Throughout his working career he sold real estate, worked at RCA and Mecon Manufacturing, taught at Oxford Hills High School and Poland School and was a Maine Guide. He was past President for the Waterford World’s Fair. He loved playing horseshoes, hunting, fishing, collecting antique clocks and dancing.

Mr. Nason is survived by his of wife of 19 ½ years, Judith (Hemingway) of Albany Twp.; two sons, Joshua of Manchester, NH and Adam of Somerville, MA; sister, Caroline Bither of Wilmington, DE; three nephews; one niece; one great-nephew and two great-nieces. He is predeceased by his mother and father; brother, Donald; stepbrothers, Bernard and Harry, Jr. and brother-in-law, Peter Bither.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, June 8 from 10-11 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Oxford Hills and Weston Funeral Services, 1037 Main St, Route 26, Oxford. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, Turner St., Auburn with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Nason's memory to Stoneham Rescue, P.O.
