Jesse White
NORWAY — Jesse White, 18, of Norway fell asleep in Jesus on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her family. She had suffered lifelong debilitating illnesses and was lovingly cared for by her mother and maternal grandparents with skilled nursing help from Home, Hope and Healing of Smithfield. When hospitalized she was well cared for by her pediatrician, Dr. Steven Blumenthal and the doctors and nurses at the Barbara Bush unit at Maine Medical Center.
Jesse was born October 9, 1992 in Waterville, the daughter of Brenda-le Thomas of Norway and William White of Albion. She was a student at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
She loved her television time as long as shows were colorful and active. She enjoyed her family trips to Walt Disney World in Florida and she especially liked Mickey Mouse and Cinderella. Through the years her favorite times were shared watching NASCAR races with her grandfather, Robert. Grandpa’s visits brought sounds of pure delight. When she was able to attend church she enjoyed the music and voice of Thelma Kilbreth so much her vocal sounds sometimes challenged Pastor Stephen Kilbreth when he began preaching.
Jesse is survived by her parents, Brenda-le of Norway and William White of Albion; sister, Jaymeele Thomas of Norway; maternal grandparents, Robert L. and Sandra L. Thomas of Norway; paternal grandparents, Calla Allen and Roy White of Albion; paternal great-grandmother, Avis Adams of Oakland; uncles, Peter Thomas of Norway and Roy White of Albion; aunt, Jean White of Waterville and maternal cousins, Abby Dalzell and Robert Dalzell of Norway.
She is predeceased by maternal aunt, Mari-ellen Thomas Davis of South Paris; maternal great-grandparents, Lawrence Sessions and Eva Tripp, Robert W. and Ruth Hill Thomas and paternal great-grandfather, Lawrence Adams.
A celebration of Jesse’s life will be held on Sunday, April 10, at 11:30 a.m. at the Mechanic Falls Advent Christian Church, Rte. 121 in Mechanic Falls, led by the pastoral team of Stephen and Thelma Kilbreth. Interment will be in the family cemetery in Norway at a later date. Donations in Jesse's memory may be made to the Mechanic Falls Advent Christian Church wheelchair ramp fund and sent to Linda Lenahan, treasurer, 253 S. Main St., Mechanic Falls, ME 04256. Arrangements under the care of Oxford Hills and Weston Funeral Services, 1037 Main St., Rte 26, Oxford. On-line condolences may be expressed to the family at www.oxfordhillsfuneralservices.com.
