SOUTH PARIS — Shelley L. Smith, 59, of South Paris, died Friday, March 4, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was born on March 17, 1951, the daughter of Charles and Pricilla Brackett.

Mrs. Smith lived in Maine most of her life, graduating from Oxford Hills High School, the University of Maine at Orono, and the New York Institute of Photography. Working with plants and photography throughout her career, she very much enjoyed both. She loved Arizona, and while living there for 16 years she owned her own landscape and design company.

She is survived by her son, Bo; a grandchild, Owen; two brothers, Russell and Kenneth; two nieces, Shelley and Sara and a nephew Matthew. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
