PERU — E. Harvey Manson, Jr., 84, died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at his residence on the Dickvale Road in Peru. Born in Dixfield on July 16, 1927, he was a son of Eugene Harvey and Margaret (Wiskont) Manson, Sr. He graduated from Stephens High School class of 1945 and served in the US Army as a Military Policeman from 1946 to 1949. He worked as a United States Postal Carrier in Rumford until his retirement.

He was a communicant of The Parish of The Holy Savior St. Athanasius - St. John Church. He was a member and Past President of the Chisholm Ski Club, member and Past President of Robert Shand Post #1641 VFW, member of the Napoleon Ouellette Post #24 American Legion and DAV. He was a member and Past Grand Knight of Fr. Ambrose J. Barry Council #2091, Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Manson was married to Isabelle Garneau, who died in 1996; in 2000 he married Elaine Godin, who survives of Peru. Other survivors include a daughter, Sandra Manson of Roxbury; three sons, John and his wife Lynn of Canton, NY, Larry and his wife Stephanie of North Conway, NH and Jim of Rumford; two stepdaughters, Jan Peaslee and her husband Larry of Mexico and Christine Smith and her husband Eugene of Oxford; two stepsons, Mark Gerrish and his wife Tammy of Rumford and Jay Gerrish and his wife Christine of Mexico and 10 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, February 15 at the Parish of The Holy Savior St. Athanasius - St John Church in Rumford. Interment in the spring will be in the St John Cemetery, Rumford. Those who desire may contribute to the Chisholm Ski Club, PO Box 616, Rumford, ME 04276 in his memory.
