FREEPORT — Barry E. Farrington, 68, of Freeport, went to the Lord on February 11, 2012, with his family by his side. He was born in Farmington, on October 18, 1943, to the late Helen L. (Clement) and Vinton H. Farrington. He attended the Jay schools. Until his retirement, he was the owner of Farrington Logging, having worked side by side with his son Larry.

He knew hard work, but he also knew how to enjoy life. He loved being outside, whether it was hunting, fishing, attending the state fairs or taking his beloved dog, Ralph, to Winslow Park. He was a member of the Harness Racing Association and owned many race horses. He always looked forward to family gatherings. He enjoyed having a garden and watching the birds. He also loved watching the Red Sox, old westerns on TV, along with listening to the music of George Jones and Elvis Presley.

Mr. Farrington was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Arnold and Keith and the apple of his eye, his daughter Laurie. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Ottolini) Farrington; one son, Lawrence (Larry) Farrington and his wife Sue of Sebago; two daughters, Lisa Michaud and her husband Norman of Wells and Lyn Farrington and her companion Anke Gee of Acton; four grandchildren, Tyler Farrington and his wife Katie of Tennessee, Crystal and Grace Farrington of Sebago and Ryan Labbe of Wells; stepchildren, Eric and Lauren Ferron; step-granddaughter Addison Jones; one sister, Janice Rackliff and her husband Mickey and one brother, Allen Farrington and his wife Penny, both of Jay. He also leaves behind his trusted companion, Ralph.

At Mr. Farrington's request there will be no service and interment will be held in the Spring at the Birchland Cemetery in North Jay.
