AUBURN — James M. Page, “Jim” 68, of 27 Nichol St., South Paris passed away Sunday, February 5, after a period of declining health at the Hospice House.
Jim was born June 10, 1943 the son of Marvin and Burliss Montgomery Page in Rochelle, Illinois. He spent the most of his youth in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1961.
Jim served in the Navy where he was an aviation electrician. He worked for many years for Brandt Money Systems and many years in the sales field. Jim was previously from the Auburn area. He enjoyed boating, motorcycles, snowmobiling and piloting.
He also enjoyed attending his children’s activities. He was very proud of his children. Jim shared a home with his loving lady, Lynn Smith. He greatly enjoyed traveling, he and Lynn made three trips to Missouri, the last being in the fall of 2011 to attend his 50th class reunion. Jim also enjoyed woodworking, cooking and socializing.
He enjoyed gardening and grew beautiful roses. He and Lynn could often be seen strolling hand in hand around their yard looking at their many flowers. They were usually followed by their dog “Sassy” and cat “Psycho.”
Jim was a member of the American Legion Post #153 in Auburn and the Eagles Club 4131 in New Gloucester. Jim was predeceased by his parents; and stepmother, Charlotte.
He is survived by Lynn Smith; a daughter Tina Royea and her husband John of Santee, California; a son, Jeffrey and his wife Nikki of Old Orchard Beach; grandchildren, Tyler Poli of San Diego, CA. area, Chelsea Kittleson and her husband of Hawaii and Ethan Poli of Santee, California.
He was also very proud of his great granddaughter, Reagan Kittleson of Hawaii. He is also survived by his best friend, Richard Reno of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Online condolences may be shared with his family at www.chandlerfunerals.com
There will be a celebration of Jim’s life at a later date. Family and friends will be contacted at that time. This will take place on the back deck of their home where Jim enjoyed spending many hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris.
