BERLIN, NH — Hilda Wright Brown left this earth to be with the angels on January 11, 2011 surrounded by her family. She is an inspiration to all who knew her with her kindness and unending love and energy.

She was born to George A. and Violet L. Wright on August 30, 1921 in Northfleet Kent, England, which remained her homeland. She loved reminiscing of her childhood there with brothers Jack, Elsper, George and sister Kathleen.

When the war threatened Europe, she joined the British Royal Air Force where she met her future husband, Irving W. Brown, a member of the US Air Force. Following the war, they made their home in Bethel and raised four amazing children, David, Kathy, Suki, and Bob.

She touched thousands of lives as a cook in the Bethel school system. Students knew that they could always count on her for nourishment and encouragement.

One of her greatest loves was her grandchildren: Tammy Davis, Denise Brown, Aaron Bean, Carl and Gene Baker, Mathieu, AJ, and Christa DeRaspe, and she was happy as seven great-grandchildren were added. She lived for family visits when she would stuff everyone with her wonderful meals, cookies and pies and showered them with her knitted gifts.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 65 years, Irving; children, David and wife Judi, Kathleen and husband Larry Baker, Suki (Carol Sue), Bob and wife Suzanne, and a special niece, Berta Broomhall.

Per Mrs. Brown's request there will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Telstar High School Scholarship fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Greenleaf Funeral Home, 37 Vernon St., Bethel. On-line condolences may be shared with her family at www.andrewsgreenleaf.com.
