SOUTH PARIS — Annie Clair (Phelan) Bridgham died Friday, January 7, 2011 at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway following a brief unexpected illness. She was born on July 27, 1923 at St. Stevens, NB, the daughter of William and Blanch Phelan. She attended schools in Calais and was proudly employed throughout her lifetime in the healthcare profession.

She was an avid gardener, a fabulous cook and was very involved in Bridgham/Phelan genealogy. She loved animals, especially dogs.

She lived in Pennsylvania for many years where her children were born, but she always called Maine home and returned here for good in 1975. She married Owen Bridgham in 1976, and enjoyed many wonderful retirement years in Bar Harbor, Hampden and South Paris.

Mr. Bridgham predeceased her in 2009. She was also predeceased by her son, William LaMath and a sister, Lovina Van Winkle of Tucson, AZ.

Mrs. Bridgham is survived by a daughter, Linda of California; John of Long Island, NY; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Grace Czajkowski of Everett, WA, Mary Maher of North Carolina and Lynne Rudasil of Champagne, IL and many nieces and nephews.

A very special niece, Annette Czajkowski of Chicago, IL, was able to spend Mrs. Bridgham’s final days with her and brought her much comfort.

Mrs. Bridgham had a deep relationship with God and looked forward to meeting Him in heaven.

Interment will be in the spring in Riverside Cemetery where she will rest beside her husband Owen and son Bill.
