OXFORD — Henry Frank Jones, 84, of Oxford passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris. He was born in Auburn on March 27, 1926, the son of Frank L. and Lottie Record Jones. He graduated from Edward Little High School and had been a self-employed carpenter. He faithfully served the country in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He married Virginia Whittemore on December 3, 1960.

He was a member of AACA of Volusia County, FL and had been a beekeeper all of his life. He loved life, was good to everyone and was mild mannered. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Virginia of Oxford; a granddaughter, Ashley Marie Mayfield; a grandson, Ryan Andrew Mayfield and a son-in-law, J. Darrell Mayfield. He was predeceased by a daughter, Angela Carol Mayfield and a sister, Ethel Frances Cash.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 7 at 11 a.m. at Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris. Interment will be in the spring at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn. Donations in his memory can be made to the Maine Veterans Home, 477 High St., South Paris, ME 04281.
