Reed W. Saunders

SOUTH PARIS — Reed W. Saunders, 69, of South Paris passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010. He was born in Lewiston on May 2, 1941, the son of Phyllis Boutelle Sorrentino. He attended schools in South Paris and Providence, RI. He served in the National Guard.

He worked at A. C. Lawrence Tannery as a supervisor before becoming a self-employed painter/roofer and chimney sweep. He was a former member of the Norway/Paris Kiwanis Club and the South Paris Fire Department. He enjoyed eating out, walks on the beach, traveling, attending the kids' games and caring for family pets. He had been a blood donor for many years and enjoyed helping people, especially shut-ins and the disabled.

Mr. Saunders is survived by his companion of 10 ½ years, Joanne Moulton; three daughters, Robin Saunders and her companion Mark Becker of Middletown, CT, Randa White and her husband Michael of Norway and Shannon Roberts and her husband Scott of Norway; four grandchildren, Brooklee Marshall and her husband Michael, Nicholas White, Whitney Roberts and Tayla Roberts; two great-grandchildren, Tredon and Colvin Marshall; two brothers, Robert Sorrentino and Joe Sorrentino and their families, all of Providence, RI; two uncles, Ronald Estes and Roland Estes; Joanne’s children, Josh Moulton and Johnna Moulton and four grandchildren, Merlin Moulton, Mallory Moulton, Sheri Moulton and Evan Poliquin. He was predeceased by a brother, Gary Boutelle.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 23 at 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St., South Paris. Family and friends may attend visitation on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris.
