Carolyn M. Haverinen

SOUTH PARIS — Carolyn M. Haverinen, 94, of South Paris died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. She was born in Paris on September 13, 1916, the daughter of Robert and Ina Mae Bonney Heminway. She graduated from South Paris High School and Farmington Normal School. She married Peter Haverinen.

She had been employed as a bookkeeper at Longley's, Oxford Pickle Co., and W. J. Wheeler Insurance Co., and was a Librarian at the Paris Public Library. She enjoyed stamp collecting, flowers, bird watching, church suppers and eating out. She had a large collection of Beanie babies and was an avid Red Sox fan.

Mrs. Haverinen is survived by her son, Richard of Hampton, VA; her daughter, Nancy and Dale Robinson of South Paris; a granddaughter, Susan; two great-grandsons; a niece, Lynda Ridlon and several nieces and nephews on the Haverinen side. She was predeceased by her husband on July 7, 1996.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 25 at Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris. Family and friends called at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at King Hill Cemetery in South Paris.
