Stephen Lee Powers Sr.

NORWAY — Stephen Lee Powers Sr., 56, of Norway was taken unexpectedly on January 13, 2011 to be with the Lord. He was born in Rumford on June 24, 1954, son of the late Warren Morgan Powers and Ida Larmore Powers. He grew up in Newry and graduated from Telstar High School in 1973. He was an avid woodsman throughout his life and enjoyed being outside whether it be on a tractor, 4-wheeler or snowmobile.

He was presently employed for the Oxford Highway Department. He and his son were enthusiastic members of the Antique Tractor Club.

Mr. Powers is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sandra Komulainen Powers; his daughter, Miranda Lee New and husband Kevin New of Auburn; his son, Stephen Lee Powers Jr. and companion Lisa Lombard of Norway; his grandson, who was his pride and joy, Braden M. New of Auburn; a sister, Susan Leeson and her husband Dean of Binghamton, NY and a brother, Tim Powers of Newry, ME.

A memorial service was held Saturday, January 15 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Route 117 in South Paris.
