OXFORD — Country singer LeAnn Rimes will headline Saturday, September 15, at the Oxford County Fair at 8 p.m. Admission will be $5.

Rimes is a country and pop singer who rose to stardom at 13 with the release of the Bill Mack song "Blue," becoming the youngest country music star since Tanya Tucker.

Rimes has won many awards, including two Grammys, three ACMs, a CMA, 12 Billboard Music Awards, and one American Music award. Rimes has also written four books, two novels and two children's books.

Although the Oxford Fair website does not list Rimes on its schedule, Rime's own website does in between two California engagements.

The Oxford Fair begins on Wednesday September 12 with a focus on education for the expected 500 local students. Thursday is Senior Citizen Day ($3 admission for Seniors), and Friday is Woodsmans Day along with the popular Youth lamb and beef sale. Saturday is Family Fun and 4-H Day culminating in the Rimes concert.
