WHITMAN Library Program 2 p.m. at the library, Bryant Pond. Guest speaker will be Dr. Fred B. Jordan who present a somewhat whimsical look at forensic pathology over the years and will talk about the Maine Medical Examiner System then and now, mass disaster planning, and a few interesting case studies including one of a Maine boy who moved West and got into a spot of trouble. There will be lots of time to ask Dr. Jordan questions, Program is open to the public at no charge and light refreshments will be served.
MIND THE BODY Sponsored by Healthy Oxford Hills. Action and support group meets from 3-4 p.m. every Thu. at the Weary Club, 385 Main St., Norway. Group’s focus is on feeling good physically and mentally. All are welcome to listen, share stories, and feel better. FMI call 739-6222.

YARD SALE 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the the American Legion Post 72 on Church St., So. Paris. There will be 24 tables, the lunch counter will be open and there will be 50/50 tickets.
BEE CLUB 1 p.m. meeting at the Agriculture Center, So. Paris. This will be a meeting to elect officers. You should be checking for food supply. This is the time of year to order your honeybees if needed. Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings to learn more about keeping bees. FMI call John at 743-5009.

SWINGIN’ BEARS Valentine’s Dance 7-10 p.m. at OHMS, Pine St., So. Paris. Admission is $6 and non-dancers welcome at no charge. Caller will be Darrell Sprague and Carol Stewart will cue the round dancing. Dance will be basic for Sept. class members, mainstream and plus levels. SCHOOL DAYS – Remember When Hosted by Friends of Ricker Library and presented by Rose Aikman. 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the library, Poland. Program will be preceded by a potluck supper. Guests are asked to bring a casserole, salad or dessert for the potluck table. Former scholars from Poland’s 1-room schoolhouses are invited to share their memories of those days. Program is a collection of historic photographs of Poland’s old schoolhouses. Before 1954 and the opening of Poland Community School, there were more than 21 1 and 2-room schools in the town of Poland.

WORLD’S FAIR 2 p.m. meeting at the Waterford Town Office. President Dana Hemingway will report on the annual State of Maine Fair meeting which several officers attended in Portland recently and on the stipend income that will be received soon from the state for the year. AARP MEETING Noon baked chicken dinner at the 1st Congregational Church, E. Main St., So. Paris. Business meeting will begin at 1 p.m., followed by speaker Robert Perry, a talented wood carver. Cost is $6.50 and reservations are required by calling Ruth at 744-9069 no later than Feb. 10. You are reminded of the pledge to bring canned goods for the Food Pantry to each meeting.

HEARTS AND Crafts 3:15 p.m. at the Norway Memorial Library, Main St. Registration is required. Children ages 6-12 and their parents are invited to come make a Valentine's Day card for someone special. There will also be another surprise craft project for the kids to take home for themselves. LOCKE FAMILY Benefit Proceeds will go to the Kyraa Locke Fund at Northeast Bank. The Locke family fell upon hard financial times before and after Kyraa’s death. While the family spent countless hours by Kyraa’s beside in the hospital, their home was left unattended, resulting in broken pipes, a collapsed roof and mold damage. It is hoped to raise enough funds to get their home back in order after this extremely difficult time in their lives. 4-10 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, Church St., So. Paris. $5 donation at the door. Special guests for the event will be Jordan Kaulback, Black Cat Road, Rusty Wiltjer, Raged Jack, New Horizons and many more. ART ADVENTURE 1-2:15 p.m. at Norway Memorial Library. Free for children ages 7-12. Each day children will have fun exploring different art materials and techniques, inspired by famous artists. On Feb. 20, children will explore the work of Andy Warhol and make a piece of pop art to take home. During the week children will be exposed to the artwork of Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Bridget Riley, and George Ohr. Local artists from the Western Maine Art Group will be volunteering to help teach children about the different artists and the types of materials used. ICE FISHING Derby 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Long Lake. Sponsored by Harrison Rec. in partnership with Inland Fisheries & Wildlife. Register at the Harrison Town Office prior to the Derby and after that register at the head of Long Lake the day of the derby. Fee is $2 for ages 0-15 and $5 for ages 16 and up. First 100 children registered will receive an ice trap. Each category winner will receive a prize and a chance to win a Youth Lifetime Fishing License. One of the licenses will be awarded to the child who catches the smallest legal fish. Only fish caught in Long Lake will be eligible for prizes. There will be lots of prizes and raffles plus food and a warming fire and vendors at the town office. Live bait provided. POLAND STAGE Troupe Proceeds will benefit the Oxford Hills Food Pantry. 3 p.m. at the Oxford Congregational Church, King St. This will be the complete works of William Shakespeare, abridged. The Show will star Christopher Dowling, Ted Tibbets and Bryant Cyr. Show is free although the company does pass the hat after the show. A medieval-style dinner will be served after the performance with a cost of $8 for adults, $4 for kids six to 12 and free for under five. The storm date is Feb. 27

Tables will be set with candles and flowers and low lighting and soft music will create an intimate atmosphere as waiters seat and serve the diners.
