Chutes celebrate

CELEBRATING — Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Chute celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. Sixty-five years ago, on October 26, 1947, while the wildfires of Maine were burning, Ruth Alberta Haynes of Waterford married Glenn Everett Chute of Harrison. Recently the house where they were married in South Waterford burned to the ground – but the marriage is going strong. They met at Bridgton Academy and also attended the University of Maine at Orono. Mr. Chute was an insurance agent in Norway for many years and the couple founded Keoka Beach Campground. They live in South Paris today. They have three children. six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
