South Woodstock

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Our condolences to the families of Larry Litchfield, Sr. and Bud Record. Thoughts and prayers to each family member on the loss of their loved ones.

Our friend Betty Davis is back home after spending six weeks at the Norway Rehabilitation Center recovering from pneumonia and the flu. So good to have you back home my friend.

Yogi had a doctor’s appointment this morning so while he is gone I can get some things done here and get this in to the office before noon.

The deer are out and about every morning and evening. A big one was standing to the corner of the garage yesterday morning; I did get a picture of him as he was standing there watching us.

The Down East Country Music Association will be holding their Annual Valentines Show on Sunday, February 17 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. This will be held at the Silver Spur on Route 121 in Mechanic Falls. The entertainment will be provided by the Tennessee-bound award winners. There will be a 50/50 drawing, raffles and the food bar will be open throughout the show. The admission for the afternoon will be $6 for non-members, $5 for members and for children under 12 the admission will be $2. Come on down and help support your "DECMA Stars." For more information, call Jackie at 793-8884 or Lolalee at 674-3104. Don’t forget to wear your dancing shoes.

On our way to the city yesterday to entertain the Seniors I spotted a yard full of robins in Auburn, yup, robins in January, and I took a couple of pictures of them. Am hoping this means an early spring, I am so ready for warmer weather and watching the trees and flowers budding open.

I love my bay window but once the sun gets to about 11:30 a.m. the sun shines so bright that I have to close the drapes. I so enjoy sitting by the window doing my crafts and working on the computer, so I invested in a roll up shade, this way I can pull the shade down just enough to block the sun but still be able to watch my birds and the traffic.

Twenty degrees here this morning with bright sunny skies, the wind is blowing making it a bit chilly. But after such a beautiful sunny 48 degree day yesterday I’m not gonna complain.

Get well wishes to Bruce Danforth; he has been terribly ill for several weeks. Wishing you a very speedy recovery, Bruce. Bruce’s mom is staying with him and Donna. It was good chatting with her and her daughter a week ago at Tim Horton’s.

hat’s all from the valley this week; stay well and enjoy your week.

Wishing each of you a Happy Valentines Day.
