Bryant Pond

BRYANT POND — Sunday services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15 a.m., Morning Worship at 10:30 a.m. and Evening Service at 6 p.m. Prayer meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The annual business meeting is January 22.

The Woodstock-Greenwood and Bethel Senior Citizens are invited to participate in exercise sessions to be held at the Whitman Memorial Library at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, January 15, 22 and 29 and February 5. Stretching and balance plus some strength exercises are included. The class will be led by Nancy Willard. All seniors are welcome and bring a friend.

Franklin Grange 124 met on Saturday, January 5, at the home of Alice Hoyt. A new member was voted in. Communications were read and the hall insurance as discussed. Under new business, Laura suggested as a community service project that money from a fundraiser be given to the Honor Roll project.

Sharon suggested a chowder supper during February vacation. It was voted to hold one on February 21, if the school is available, with different chowders, soups, chop suey, desserts, drinks and rolls, etc. More on this later. A potluck lunch was held after the meeting. The next meeting is February 2.

There will be a benefit spaghetti dinner for Eddie Gammon Sr. on Saturday, January 19, at the American Legion Hall in Locke Mills. Doors open at 3 p.m. and dinner will be served from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $8 and children under six eat free.
