Franklin Grange 124 met on Monday, November 5, for a regular meeting at the Grange Hall. It was voted to hold one meeting a month during December, January and February.
It will be held the first Saturday of the month unless there is bad weather. The December meeting is Saturday, December 1, at 10 a.m. at the Grange Hall followed by a potluck lunch. The January and February meetings will be at Alice Hoyt's.
The Thanksgiving basket will be drawn on Saturday, November 17, at the next meeting. This meeting will be at 10 a.m. at the Grange Hall with a potluck dinner following. Olive Risko read from some old newspaper clippings of Grange meetings held in 1928, 1938, and 1940.
The program was as follows: Opening Thought by Bertha DeHaas, "America the Beautiful" sung by all, thoughts on "The Price of Freedom" by Bertha, song "Yankee Doodle Dandy," each one told of something they remembered about World War II and song "Battle Hymn of the Republic."
Don't forget to bring your items for the Thanksgiving basket to the November 17 meeting.
It was good to see so many voters out on Election Day.
