BRYANT POND — Sunday services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15 a.m., Morning Worship at 10:30 a.m. and Evening Service at 6 p.m. Prayer meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
On Saturday, October 20, there will be a door hanging party with a potluck soup dinner. On Sunday, October 28, there will be a pie social following the evening service. Missionary Larry Strout will be here that evening.
Franklin Grange 124 met on Monday, October 1, for a regular meeting. Two new members were welcomed. October 3 was Pomona Grange at Franklin. October 16, is the Republican supper.
The Grange will meet again on October 13. On November 10, the Grange will have a Mock Hee Haw Show. Meetings in November will be the first Monday, November 5, at 7 p.m. and the third Saturday, November 17, at 10 a.m. Ann Morton and Laura Hutchins will represent the Grange at the State Grange. It was voted to have a Thanksgiving basket raffle.
The Whitman Memorial Library program will be held at 2 p.m. today, October 11. There will be three guest speakers. Robert and Cynthia Circler of South Paris will be showing pictures and telling of their trip to South Africa, and Elaine Newell of West Paris will talk abut her trip to Namibia to visit her daughter who was then in the Peace Corps.
These are two different and very interesting stories about Africa. The public is invited at no charge and light refreshments will be served.
On Sunday, October 21, at the American Legion Hall in Greenwood, the Greenwood Youth Football Team will hold a spaghetti supper for a fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m.
The price is $7 for 12 years and over and $5 for 11 years and under. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. The supper will be served by the older youth of the football team. Come and support them.
The Historical Society will meet on Saturday, October 13, at 6 p.m. Refreshments will follow the meeting and program.
Ken and Alice Hoyt traveled to New York on Saturday, September 29, to watch Gallaudet University play soccer with SUNY University. Granddaughter Maggie Hoyt plays for Gallaudet. They lost the game 2-1 but it was a good game and a beautiful ride.
