West Sumner

WEST SUMNER — I am writing this on September 28. This morning I got up to see frost on the ground.

Nineteen of my siblings and their spouses met at Foully's for breakfast to celebrate Esther and Leon's birthdays. Esther is my oldest sister and Leon is the baby of the family. Walter is the oldest, born in 1928, and Leon was born in 1950.

My mother was pregnant all these years having 14 children and two miscarriages. Jacky came with her daughter January, who has a baby boy named Jake. Jake got a lot of attention this day.

Kendall went into the MMC on Thursday, September 20. He was seeing things that weren't there. He was quite confused. They treated him with plasma-phoresis every day. On September 27, he had a seizure and now he is sleeping and resting.

He was very uncomfortable and gave everyone a hard time before he had the seizure. He was adamant about coming home. Marsha Hadley has just flown home from Indiana to visit her father and be a help to her mother.

Larry and Judy Stup have returned back to East Sumner after a short stay in Maryland.

Dick and Sue Wilken have returned from taking a vacation to Connecticut, New Jersey and New York, visiting relatives.

It is apple picking time and the new apples taste so good. I made applesauce, apple nut squares and apple cookies yesterday. Guess I'll go eat.
