Spent the day with our friend Betty D. on Wednesday. We enjoyed a nice breakfast at Daddy O's, then drove to Lewiston where the band played for the afternoon at one of the nursing homes. It was a great day for a ride and it's always a joy seeing our friends on a monthly basis.
The trees are beginning to greet us with beautiful fall colors on a daily basis. A sure sign of cooler weather coming.
It's a very cool and sunny day, but only 49 degrees here today. Sounds like a hot stew day, so guess I better head for the kitchen and make a critter stew with hot biscuits for supper.
My dad always told us that a stew was best made in the morning and setting up the rest of the day so all the flavors could blend together and to be warmed up about an hour before serving.
For those of you who have been asking for a CD of the band, we have made arrangements to spend time in the recording studio on Thursday, so our first CD will be out shortly.
A reminder for those of you who like to attend the Oxford County Sheriffs Dept. Senior TRIAD program. This will be held at the Eagles Club in Rumford on October 12 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Free coffee and donuts, popcorn and lunch will be served at noon.
There will be a 50/50 drawing and raffles. Music will be provided by "Lolalee" & The Country Bandits.
Well dear readers, that's all from the valley this week. Please remember to get your flu and pneumonia shots and for those of you who have had chicken pox in your earlier years, there is a vaccine for Shingles.
