Bryant Pond

BRYANT POND — Sunday services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15 a.m., Morning Worship at 10:30 a.m. and Evening Service at 6 p.m. Prayer meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Saturday, October 20, there will be a door hanging party with a potluck lunch. On Sunday, October 28, there will be a pie social following the evening service.

Sympathy is extended to the family of "Willy" Hathaway and also to the family of Raymond Melanson.

On Sunday afternoon, a family reunion for the late Wayland and Flora Hoyt was held at the home of Donald and Andrea Hoyt. There were 40 present. An enjoyable afternoon was had with potluck dinner, music by Troy Pingree and horseshoe games.

Those attending were from Rumford, Auburn, Norway, Portland, Oxford, Yarmouth, Greenwood and Bryant Pond.

The Whitman Memorial Library program for October is on Thursday, October 11, at 2 p.m. There will be three speakers.

Robert and Cynthia Kirchherr of South Paris will be showing pictures and talking about their trip to South Africa, and Elaine Newell of West Paris will tell about the two weeks she spent visiting her daughter who was in the Peace Corps in Namibia, Africa.

These are two different and interesting stories about Africa. The public is invited at no charge and light refreshments will be served.

Judith Grover Tent 17 will meet at the Grange Hall on Monday, October 8, for a regular meeting.

The Woodstock-Greenwood Senior Citizens will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 4 (today), at the Route 2 Diner in Rumford Center.

The Woodstock Historical Society will meet on Saturday, October 13, at the museum starting at 6 p.m. This will be followed by light refreshments. It was brought to my attention that in the list of new officers it is Larry Bonney, not Larry Billings, who is vice president.
