BRYANT POND — Sunday services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15 a.m., Morning Worship at 10:30 a.m. and Evening Service at 6 p.m. Prayer meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
On September 9, the evening service will be in Augusta, at a special service at the Church Hill Baptist at 6 p.m.
Franklin Grange 124 met at the hall on Monday, August 20, for Past Masters Night. A good crowd attended from surrounding Granges. Nineteen Past Masters attended plus others.
A 6 p.m. supper was held followed by the meeting. Several state officers were present. Officers for the night were Master Wayne Sherman, Overseer Richard Felt, Lecturer Laura Hutchins, Chaplin Nancy Clark, S Fred Breame, AS Harold Parsons, LAS Norma Meserve, GK Fred Breame, Flora Peggy Blake, Ceres Olive Risko, Pomona Linda Libra, Secretary Vicki Clark, Treasurer Wendall Easter, Executive Committee, Earl Andrews, Janet Whittier and Steve Haycot, Pianist Ethel LaCourse and CWA, Karen Flagg, Bertha DeHaas and Alice Hoyt.
The program was as follows: Welcome Song, Roll Call of Past Masters, each giving a brief remark, Skit with Richard Felt and Clara Lamers, Song "America the Beautiful," Song "Home, Home on the Range," Skit with Nancy Clark, Norma Meserve and Laura Hutchins, Song "Bringing in the Sheaves," Reading "When Friends Drop In" by Karen Flagg, Music by Laura Hutchins and Richard Felt, Song "Count Your Many Blessings" and Closing Thought.
The next Grange meeting will be September 3.
A kind guest brought vegetables which were auctioned off and the money went to CWA.
It has been brought to my attention that a new antique store has opened in Pinhook on Cushman Hill Road. Wally Farrington has opened his home and it is open by appointment only by calling 665-3185. Good luck, Wally.
Remember that the Woodstock-Greenwood Senior Citizens will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Masonic Hall. The dinner will be by the Star Birthday Club and the program will be on Lyme disease by either Diane Farnum or Rhonda Buker or both.
The Woodstock Historical Society will meet on September 8, at the museum for a 6 p.m. meeting with light refreshments following.
