West Sumner

WEST SUMNER — The West Sumner Baptist Church services are as follows: Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., morning service at 11 a.m. and evening service at 6 p.m. each Sunday and prayer meeting is on Wednesday at 7 p.m. with Pastor Larry Thurlow officiating.

There was a first special meeting with Pastor Wes Tomlinson and he will be speaking Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. and at both services on Sunday. There will be a potluck dinner on Sunday at noon.

The Hadley reunion was held on August 12, at Brent and Carol's home in Sumner with 31 members. These are the descendants of Alton and Dora Hadley. Erlon Hadley was the oldest member, and Ethan Hadley, Ben and Gretchen's son at 16 months, was the youngest.

An auction was conducted by Glendon Hadley and over $200 was taken in to be used to pay bills and to help out when needed. Jeffrey Hadley, Glendon's son, came the furthest from Madison.

A potluck dinner was enjoyed by all. Erlon, Glendon, Lonnie, Karen and myself sang a favorite old hymn "In the Garden."
